Is auto insurance required in the State of Wisconsin?

As in all states in America, and Wisconsin is not an exception, financial responsibility laws are in place to protect drivers from any form of monetary trouble in cases where they are liable for a car accident. This means that anyone driving and has actual control of a motor vehicle will have to show proof that they have the necessary funds to pay for any damages they may cause while driving on public roads. Motorists usually obtain auto insurance coverage as evidence of financial capacity. Failure to comply with this law may mean loss of driving privileges and a cancellation of your car’s registration.
In the State of Wisconsin, all drivers must obtain the Uninsured Motorist Insurance. This would pay for damages to your car or any other public property at any one accident where a driver with no adequate or no insurance coverage at all is declared responsible for the mishap.
With medical care and repairs cost increasing every year, it would be impossible for an average American citizen to shoulder the expenses incurred if he or she causes an accident on the road. It is for this reason that it would be advisable to obtain the liability insurance to cover for bodily injury and property damage following an accident where you are at fault.
